TEMPORARY PUMP STATION FOR FIRE SYSTEM
A temporary pump station provided by Holland Pump Company enables KIK Consumer Products Plant & adjacent plant next door in Lake Charles to upgrade their pump house to their fire protection systems. The temporary system was needed to maintain safety and meet fire codes during the new pump house construction and testing. The temporary system uses water from the fire pond located on the plant’s property, just as the permanent system did. The temporary system had to meet the standard pumping of 2500 GPM with 70 PSI of street pressure and 140 PSI of outlet pressure. The temporary system will remain in place until the new system being installed by Brown & Root is fully operational.
